Is a procedure confirmed when I book an appointment?
No. Booking arranges a clinical review. The treating team confirms suitability, preparation, timing, and availability after assessment.
Is emergency surgical care available 24/7?
Emergency assessment, surgeons, and anaesthesia are available 24/7 on call. The operation theatre is activated case by case according to the patient's clinical need.
Does RMC have an ICU?
RMC has a recovery room and High Dependency Unit (HDU), but it does not operate an ICU. Patients requiring intensive care are stabilized and transferred appropriately.
Does RMC have a blood bank?
RMC does not operate an onsite blood bank. Blood requirements are coordinated through formal arrangements with nearby blood facilities.
How is histopathology arranged?
Samples requiring histopathology are coordinated with an external diagnostic laboratory, and the clinical team explains the reporting and follow-up process.
What should I bring to a surgical consultation?
Bring identification, previous prescriptions, relevant reports or imaging, and a current list of medicines and allergies.
Should I fast before my first appointment?
Do not fast unless RMC has specifically instructed you to do so for a planned procedure or investigation.
What if the problem feels urgent?
Use the Emergency Department for severe pain, heavy bleeding, breathing difficulty, collapse, major injury, or rapidly worsening symptoms rather than waiting for a routine appointment.
